Illegal sawn timbers were seized in the house of U Nyunt win, a resident of Phalanbo village in Singaing township, Kyaukse district, Mandalay region yesterday morning.

 After receiving information, a combined team comprised of forest staff and local police officers searched the house of U Nyunt Win dealing in bamboo matting and bamboo products. The authorities seized different sizes of 152 illegal sawn timbers weighing 5.4402 tons, together with a Chinese-made engine used for sawing. 

The police pressed charges against U Nyunt Win, 52, for doing illegal business, according to Singaing Myoma police station.—Win Win Than (Township  IPRD)
