A total of 72,000 acres of varieties of crops has been planted in Kyunhla Township of Sagaing Region in 2024-2025 monsoon, according to statistics released by the Township Agriculture Department.
A total of 72,000 acres of varieties of crops including 29,517 acres of paddy, 16950 acres of pulses, 7319 acres of oilseed crops, 51 acres of sugarcane, 17357 acres of other types of crop and 1549 acres of perennials has been grown this monsoon in the Township.
The Township earmarked 76858 acres of varieties of crops in 2024-2025 monsoon, but local farmers have only planted 72,000 acres of varieties of crops so far, according to Daw Myint Myint Yee, staff officer of the Township Agriculture Department.
In order to successfully develop rain-fed crop plantations and achieve the targeted output, the Township Department of Agriculture is making field trips and providing knowledge on agricultural techniques such as good quality seeds, systematic ways of planting, prevention of pest infestation, unnecessary use of pesticides, systematic use of natural fertilizers and chemical fertilizers to farmers in the Township.—Myo Win Nyo(Kyunhla)
