THE ceremonies commemorating the 78th anniversary of the Union Day took place in respective regions, states and self-administered division and zones yesterday. Also present at the ceremonies were chief ministers of regions and states, regional commanders, township-level departmental officials, social welfare organizations, teachers, students and locals.
First, the chief ministers of regions and states, regional commanders and attendees saluted the State Flag, and the fallen martyrs and soldiers. Then, the respective officials read out the message sent by State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing to the occasion.
Then, the officials inaugurated the vegetables, fruits and horticulture exhibition competition, and sports events marking the 78th Union Day. They observed the departmental and private booths at the event.
Moreover, the officials awarded the departmental staff and students who won in competitions and sports events and served ethnic traditional food.
In the evening, the colourful fireworks display shows and funfairs were organized in respective regions, states and self-administered division and zones. — MNA/KTZH
