Pinlebu, July 15
A total of 8.15 kg of black opium was seized from two men between Tamawtha and Tawpone village in Pinlebu Township, katha district, Sagaing region yesterday evening, according to the township police station.
Upon information received, the local policemen together with witnesses intercepted two motorbikes driven by two men identified as Tha Htay and Myint Shwe. The authorities seized 8.15 kg of black opium from a motorbike driven by Tha Htay. The seized black opium belonged to Myint Shwe.
The authorities pressed drugs charges against the two under narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances law.—Myo Lwin (IPRD)
