Mongnai, 20 January

A total of 937 acres of vegetables have been planted this winter crop season in Mongnai Township, Namhsan District, Shan State (South).

The Township Agriculture Department is actively conducting field inspections and providing necessary support to farmers. They are promoting the use of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) to cultivate vegetables such as mustard greens, radishes, lettuce, coriander, chilies, coffee, and potatoes. This approach helps minimize chemical residues and ensures that the crops are grown healthily.

In Mongnai Township, various vegetables are grown each year according to the season, and the crops are thriving. The Township Agriculture Department emphasized the need to expand vegetable cultivation to increase yields, meet market demand, and improve the socio-economic conditions of the community.— Myo Nyunt Shwe (Mongnai)
