A rural road has been built in Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region under the Clmate-Friendly Agribusiness Value Chains Sector Project (CFAVC), according to an official from the Department of Rural Development.


An inter-village rural road was built by the DRD with Ks 55.043 financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The project started in August and was completed in early December this year, said U Nyi Nyi Win, Staff Officer from the DRD. The rural road measuring one mile and two furlongs long, 15 ft. wide and one ft. and 9 inch thick is expected to benefit about 500 acres of farmland belonging to the farmers from nearby villages.


The DRD focuses on construction of rural roads and bridges by spending the Union Budget and funds allocated by the local government as majority of people in the township rely on agriculture for their livelihood.
