A ceremony to open an advanced sewing course-1 was held at the office of women's domestic vocational training school in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State on 17 May. The training course was organized by Education and Training Department under Ministry of Border Affairs.

At the event, Deputy Administrator of the District General Administration Department U Naing Aye delivered an opening speech and clarified the purposes of the training course. Afterwards, headmistress of the training school Daw Nilar Kyi introduced the subject to be taught to the trainees during the training.

The eighteen-week long training course is being attended by 30 women from villages and wards in the Township. With a view of creating job opportunities for rural women, Education and Training Department organized an advanced sewing course in the Township.—Thet Lwin Soe, District IPRD
