MYANMAR suffered a 0-2 loss against Chinese Taipei yesterday in the qualifiers for the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.
Team Myanmar lined up with goalkeeper Aung Kyaw Phyo, Htoo Myat Khant, Kaung Htet Paing, Tun Tun Win, Kaung Khant, Yan Naing Tun, Kaung Khant Kyaw, Zin Myo Aung, Aung Thiha Paing, Captain Kyaw Min Khant, and Sai Sai Enn Htoo. Head Coach U Min Thu led team Myanmar.
Both Myanmar and Chinese Taipei were in attack mode, and applied the 4-3-3 formation.
Chinese Taipei deserved the win, with its strikers executing and tackling well in the second half.
Although Myanmar used speedy play at the beginning, the team’s strikers could not breach Chinese Taipei’s defence line.
Though there were goal chances, neither team scored in the first half. A few minutes into the second half, Chinese Taipei upped their game with a change in tactics.
Taking advantage of an error by Myanmar’s defense, Chinese Taipei landed their first goal at 47 minutes.
The goal was scored by Yungchun, who bypassed three Myanmar defenders to land the ball into the net.
The young defenders of Chinese Taipei put up a strong defence, blocking the ball well against Myanmar’s strikers.
Chinese Taipei netted another goal at 85 minutes. It was scored by Luo Zihan off a free kick, with an assist from his team mate, striker Huang.
There was not enough time left for Myanmar to score consolation goals, and the match ended with a win for Chinese Taipei.
