21 October

THE  Myanmar  national  futsal  team will play against the Timor Leste  futsal  team  today  in  the  Group  A  match  of  the  ASEAN  Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship  2019  at  the  Phu  Tho  Indoor  Stadium  in  Ho  Chi  Minh City, Viet Nam.

A match cooperation meet-ing  and  a  pre-press  conference  for  the  championship  was  held  yesterday  morning  at  the  First  Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

The  press  conference  was  attended by U Kyi Min Thein, the administrator  of  the  Myanmar  futsal  team,  on  behalf  of  team  Myanmar head coach U Htay My-int,  who  was  busy  supervising  the  players  ahead  of  the  championship.

During the press conference, U  Kyi  Min  Thein  said  that  the  team got two months to prepare for the championship. Team Myanmar competed in the four-nation  futsal  invitational  cup  in  China  in  September,  as  part  of  preparations for the tourney, he said.  “And then, we have already played friendly matches with Viet Nam futsal teams here and got so much international match experience. We respect each and every competitor in the tourney. We are aiming  for  winning  the  current  AFF  futsal  championship  and  also  targeting  to  qualify  for  the  next  Asian-level  futsal  championship.  We  will  do  our  best,”  U  Kyi Min Thein added.

Myanmar  will  face  Timor  Leste today in the opening match of  the  championship,  which  is  scheduled  for  1  p.m.  Myanmar  Standard Time, according to the Myanmar  Football  Federation.
