A late goal by Australian U-18 team captain Kai Clifton Trew-in caused the Myanmar U-18 team to fall to the final match, when they played a very deci-sive semi-final match at the AFF Under-18 Next Media Cup 2019 at the Binh Duong Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City yesterday.
As the game was played in wet and slippery conditions, both teams struggled for every move.
Coached by head coach Soe Myat Min, Myanmar was in the best condition, dominat-ing the world ranked Australia team throughout the first half, with frequent threats over the Australian Defense line.
Myanmar missed a chance at the six minute mark when Myanmar’s Aung Ko Oo score was successfully blocked by Australian keeper Noah Paul James.
With a union play, Myan-mar scored a leading goal by La Min Htwe at the 18 minute mark.

Due to missing chances created by Myanmar, there were no more goals by Myan-mar and the first half ended 1-0 in favour of Myanmar.
The second half saw My-anmar still playing tough, with equal possession of the football by Australia.
But Australia made their equalizer at 56 minutes, with a quick pass by Lachlan Brook.
With the score 1-1, the game became more heated, as Myanmar launched its open attack.
However, Australia scored the winning goal just before the match end.
Due to the loss, on 19 Au-gust Myanmar will fight for third place against the Indonesia team, which also faced a 3-4 loss to the Malaysia team dur-ing an earlier semifinal match in the same tourney.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
