THE Ayeyawady Region In­vestment Committee (YRIC) endorsed 11 foreign enterprises and 24 domestic businesses to make investments in the region between February 2021 and Feb­ruary 2026, creating 10,000 jobs for locals.

 

Agriculture is the backbone of Ayeyawady Region’s econo­my. Investors mostly invest in rice and related businesses and garment manufacturing. The regional investment committee has been implementing meas­ures to facilitate exports and investment.

 

During the February 2021-February 2026 period, the committee also allowed some existing enterprises to make capital expansion and an in­crease in the labour force. The regional investment committee has been endorsing investment projects in accordance with rules and regulations under the My­anmar Investment Law to spur investments and create more job opportunities. — ASH/KK
