The ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management (ACDM) for 2020 held its coordination meeting online yesterday on rehabilitation works of the committee.

Director General Dr Ko Ko Naing from the Natural Disaster Management Department performed as a joint chairman of the meeting which focused on the five-year work plans for 2021-2025 period to reduce losses and damages caused by natural disasters in ASEAN region.

The participants, including the joint chairman of committee from Indonesia and representatives from Brunei Darussalam, Laos, the Philippines and Thailand, reviewed their experiences, lesson-learnings, challenges and gaps in implementing the previous five-year period from 2016 to 2020, as well as future plans and time frame for the next round.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
