THE Media Development De­partment of the Ministry of Infor­mation will host the Workshop on Mastering Government Commu­nication: Empowering Spokes­persons for Effective Public En­gagement from 26 to 28 February at Horizon Lake View Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

The representatives of ASE­AN member states arrived in Yangon yesterday to attend the workshop and were welcomed by relevant officials at the Yangon International Airport.

The workshop is held as a project of the ASEAN subcommit­tee on culture with the ASEAN Cultural Fund aiming at master­ing government communication empowering spokespersons for effective engagement between media and the government, dis­tributing keynote speeches, and exchanging skills and knowledge to solve the crisis in addition to building trust between the gov­ernment and the public.

 

The representatives from Cambodia, Thailand, the Philip­pines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Indonesia, and the ASEAN Sec­retary-General Office will attend the workshop, and the represent­atives from Japan will join as ob­servers. The relevant officials of the ministries concerned, and officials of media fields includ­ing the Myanmar Press Council will also attend as observers. — MNA/KTZH
