State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended the ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit in Busan to mark the 30th anniversary of their dialogue relations, the opening ceremony of ASEAN-ROK Startup Summit and Innovation Showcase 2019, bilateral meeting of Myanmar and ROK and signing MoUs in fisheries, vocational trainings and environmental conservation sectors between the two countries. The State Counsellor arrived at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center at 9:15 am local time to attend the Summit. She was welcomed by President Mr Moon Jae-in and posed for documentary photos with the President, leaders of ASEAN member countries and heads of government ministries.
At the Summit, the State Counsellor made remarks on ASEAN-ROK collaborations in the past 30 years and discussed future potentials to promote partner relations between the Southeast Asian bloc and the East Asian nation.

She also attended the opening ceremony of ASEAN-ROK Startup Summit and Innovation Showcase 2019, and opened it together with other leaders before they looked around recent renovations at the event.
The State Counsellor then enjoyed a luncheon of ASEAN-ROK leaders at the Nurimaru APEC House in Busan to discuss matters related to stability and development of Korean peninsula.
She also attended bilateral meeting of Myanmar and ROK, held at the Westin Chosun Busan Hotel, where both sides discussed fostering relations, developments in implementing agreements made during the recent visit of President of ROK to Myanmar, promoting cooperation in the sectors of culture, education, agriculture, fisheries, environmental conservation, infrastructure, rural development and people-to-people relations.
State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President Moon Jae-in witnessed signing MoUs for fishery sector, vocational training programmes and environmental conservation between Myanmar and the ROK.
The State Counsellor then proceeded to the ASEAN Cultural House in Busan, and looked around the cultural exhibitions of Cambodia, Laos, Viet Nam, Thailand and Myanmar, together with President Moon Jae-in and the First Lady Kim Jung-sook, leaders of ASEAN countries and heads of government ministries.
The State Counsellor attended a welcoming dinner hosted by the ROK President and the First Lady to honour the leaders from Mekong region countries after posing for documentary photos together with the attendees.—MNA(Translated by Aung)
