THE word of Peace covered all pages of publications as well as on the air in the broadcasting of radio and television images all over Myanmar during the whole last year. Such a process continues this year as of New Year Day. It is expected their dreams come true for restoration of the peace through the talks with the participation of, the government, the Tatmadaw and relevant stakeholders, focusing on common interests for the nation to be able to enjoy the taste of perpetual peace.
The government is always keen to restore perpetual peace for the sake of the people and the nation and all stakeholders as well. That is why the government has always opened the door to peace negotiations. It is because peace can change all forms and situations of society. It can help the people see good fortune, brighter future and prosperous potentials.
The State Administration Council has adopted the five-point road map, the fifth point of which mentions that upon accomplishing the provisions of the state of emergency, free and fair multiparty democracy general elections will be held in line with the 2008 Constitution, and further work will be undertaken to hand over State duties to the winning party in accordance with democratic standards.
The smooth peace processes depend on the cooperation of the people and the international community. The first four points of the roadmap support the last point. It is noticeable that if one harms the first four points, it will be a hindrance to the last point. However, the government clearly declared that it will not change its policy at present. All the stakeholders to restore the peace need to keep the same attitudes and set aside the different opinions. They all need to talk about the peace issue based on the same attitudes while negotiating the different opinions related to peace through compromises.
They all have to march forwards to the goal of restoring peace inch by inch. They all have invaluable time. They spend their spare time in peace talks. As such, the restoration of peace is invaluable. Everybody should notice the important role of valuable time for peace. If they totally agree to the restoration of peace across the nation, it will be the greatest victory for all national brethren of the country.
