Officials from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement organized awareness talks on reducing disaster risks in some townships in Thayawady and Bago Districts.
DDM staff disseminated knowledge about disaster risks, distributed pamphlets depicting disaster prevention schemes and presented posters on disaster risks in some villages in Thayawady, Thonze, and Letpadan Townships. Similarly, DDM officials led by Assistant Director Daw Sandar Htet conducted an awareness talk about disaster risks at a primary school in Thanatpin Township.

They also presented cash and kind worth more than Ks. 1.7 million to storm victims from three village-tracts in the township at the meeting hall of the General Administration Department.—Tin Soe
