Under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Sports and supervision of Dr Zaw Wai Soe, Vice-Chairperson of Yangon Region’s Coordination Committee on COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment, the Ayeyarwady Foundation is constructing COVID-19 Critical Care Unit – Ayeyarwady Centre, which will house COVID-19 emergency patients at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon. The COVID-19 Critical Care Unit – Ayeyarwady Centre will consist of a 20-bedded Intensive Care Unit and a 55-bedded High Dependency Unit.


Ayeyarwady Foundation has also already built a COVID-19 Care Unit (Thuwunna) – Ayeyarwady Centre at National Football Academy (Yangon), and it has capacity of 425 beds and rooms for 150 heath workers and volunteers. The COVID-19 Critical Care Unit – Ayeyarwady Centre at Thuwunna Stadium will become a 500-bedded care centre, and 250 health workers and volunteers will be appointed. The Ayeyarwady Foundation has also provided food for patients, volunteers and health workers at the COVID-19 Care Unit (Thuwunna) – Ayeyarwady Centre at the National Football Academy (Yangon) daily.
