Htigyaing 26 July

Due to the increase in the water level of Ayeyawady River, water continuously entered into some houses in low-lying area in Htigyaing Township, Katha District, Sagaing Region.

A total of 177 people from 43 households in the township were evacuated from their houses to nearby monasteries, schools and their relatives.

According to survey until 25 July, there are a total of 805 flood affected people from 187 households and they all were relocated to safety places with the help of township authorities.

According to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology’s observation at 6 am today, the water level of Ayeyawady River reached 768 centimeters, 28 centimeters above its danger level.
