As Bagan-NyaungU in Mandalay Region is home to important archaeological sites, a number of visitors thronged the area on the morning of 14 October, according to a resident from Bagan Town.

There are many pagodas, temples, and monuments in Bagan-NyaungU region, including Shwezigone, Tantkyitaung, Tuywintaung, Lawkananda, Alodawpyae, Htilominlo temple, Ananda, Buu Phaya, Thatbyinnyu, Shwesandaw, Katotpalin, Dhammayangyi, Sulamani Temple, Soemingyi Phaya, Pyathetgyi, and the old Bagan museum. These and other significant destinations have been crowded with visitors.

During the five-day Thadingyut holiday, the Township Police Force and the Fire Services Department have been looking into resolving traffic problems for the convenience of civil service personnel, company staff, workers, international visitors, and other pilgrims. Car parking is also being systematically managed, according to the pagoda trustee boards. “A large number of visitors have flocked to the ancient pagodas and famous destinations in Bagan-NyaungU region since the first day of the Thadingyut holiday. Therefore, travelers have experienced traffic problems on the last day. At present, the traffic systems are under the control of the Traffic Police and the Fire Services Department. Additionally, hotels, motels, restaurants, souvenir shops, horse carts, and motorcycle taxis are getting more opportunities to earn an income in this high season,” said a local from Bagan Town.
