Bago Region Chief Minister U Win Thein held a meeting with local people, departmental personnel and parliamentarians at a monastery in Bago ward of Kyaukkyi Township, Bago region yesterday morning.
In the meeting, the Region Chief Minister in his speech said that the eastern part of Bago region, east of Sittoung River lagged behind other parts of the region in transport, economic and social sectors, experiencing weak stability during recent years.
The government has been striving to achieve developments in transport, economic and social sectors in all parts of the region. He also said that he has come to fulfill the needs of local people, adding that tackling the difficulties of local people living in underdeveloped areas is his top priority.
Then, local residents from villages put forward the need to settle the land disputes of Basic Education High School ( Nat Thangwin), police station and Meedaing Taw village, the need to build a village road and a dam in Wegyi village, to construct a dam in Kyauksayit village, to build Kyauksayit-Hteinbin-Pae Thaung inter-village road, to provide a midwife for Mae Poke village, to repair Sae Palae-Ngahtwesok inter-village road in Sae Palae village and other matters relating to development of the areas.
After hearing the presentations made by local residents, the Chief Region Minister gave responsible persons guidelines about the matters, urging departmental personnel and parliamentarians to work together to solve the problems of the local people.
A total of 300 people including ward and village administrators and local people, departmental personnel at different levels attended the meeting.
