Bago region Chief Minister U Win Thein yesterday heard a presentation, made by a  group of businessmen led by Managing Director U Myint Than Oo of Golden Zenith Co,. Ltd, on construction of low-cost housing in  Pyi township, Bago region.

At the event, the region chief Minister U Win Thein said that the demand for new housing is on the rise as the population of the region is growing. In developing decent housing, facilities such as roads, market, clinics, hospitals, schools, religious buildings, government offices for providing local people with services, parks and recreation centers must be included, he said.

Plans to build systematic decent housing should be made for ready use in future. The government is facing difficulties in fulfilling housing requirements of the public as it is carrying out development works on a tight budget, said the region chief minister.

He said he was very happy to know that the group made plans to construct low-cost housing and to sell them to local people with five year installments linking with banks.

Then, U Khin Maung San, secretary of Bago region government explained requirements and rules to be abided by companies in entering into a joint venture with the government. And, Sai Thet Naing Moe, director of the region Urban and Housing Development Department clarified the basic facts that must be included in designing urban housing. Then, Managing Director U Myint Than Oo briefed housing development projects to be undertaken in Bago region and, after that U Soe Naing, engineer in charge, gave a video presentation about the designs of buildings, roads, dispensaries, markets and public recreation centers to be developed.

Present at the meeting that happened at Tawwinhantha hall of Bago region government were Bago region Chief Minister u Win Thein, Secretary of the region government U Khin Maung San, departmental heads at regional level, Managing Director U Myint Than and officials from Golden Zenith Co., Ltd.—Tin Soe (Bago)
