Chief Minister of Bago Region U Win Thein heard a proposal on the development of a new town presented by a delegation led by U Nay Myo Aung, Managing Director of Uniho Tomosada Co Ltd at his office in Bago yesterday afternoon.

The managing-director of the Uniho Tomosada Co Ltd made a power point presentation on the establishment of a new town to the chief minister. In his part, the chief minister said that Bago Region is economically and strategically located and became a crossroad where waterway and inland road meet. The new town project is designed to include roads, waste-to-energy plants, water treatment facilities, railway stations, ring roads and an industrial zone.

The meeting was also attended by Regional Minister for Industry, Electricity and Road Transport U Than Win, and region level departmental officials.—Tin Soe (Bago)
