ACCORDING to the Bago Region Government, plans are under way to establish an association of agricultural machinery entrepreneurs in Bago Region.
The initiative aims to promote the development and production of domestically manufactured agricultural machinery as a substitute for imports, enhance access to technology and capital investment, and enables the production of machinery ranging from small- and medium-scale equipment to heavy agricultural machinery.
In order to advance the production of locally manufactured agricultural machinery, the Bago Region Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs Association will collaborate with the Myanmar Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs Association. The Bago Region Government will make the necessary arrangements to support the production of agricultural machinery of all sizes, from small and medium to large-scale equipment.
In addition, the regional government will provide comprehensive assistance to agricultural machinery manufacturers, including the necessary technology, capital investment and other requirements.
At the Union-level MSME Products Exhibition and Market Fair recently held in Nay Pyi Taw, agricultural machinery produced in Bago Region was purchased by various regions and states for a total exceeding K571.8 million. — ASH/KNN
