Sumprabum, 9 February

With the aim of creating job opportunities and boosting income of rural people, the township Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation organized a bamboo handicraft course at the hall of Banru in Sumprabum, Kachin State on 8 February.

First, the Township Administrator U Zar Ni Toe delivered an opening speech, and urged the trainees to apply the subjects learned during the training to generate more income in their families. Next, staff officer of the township DRD U Thant Zin Oo clarified the purposes of the training course.

Two course instructors from Myitkyina gave training on making six items based on bamboo to 15 trainees from four villages in the township during training course.—Kade, IPRD
