A bamboo handicraft course was opened at a multi-purpose hall in Butar Village, ChaungU Township in Sagaing Region on July 17.

The vocational training course is conducted by the Small Scale Industry Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation. Two course instructors from the SSID gave training on making nine items based on bamboo to 25 trainees during 11-day training course as well provided ten kinds of equipment necessary for making bamboo handicrafts.

The training course is intended to create better job opportunities for rura; people in the township.
