Hakha, February 25
With the cooperation among the ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the regional tourism committee of Chin state, a basic course on regional tourist guide was opened at the town hall in Hakha town, Chin state this morning.
At the ceremony, U Man Hin Darl, Chin state minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Forest and Mines said that the course was intended to create job opportunities for local people, to promote socio-economic lives of local people, to develop tourism in Chin state, to provide better tourism services for travellers from home and abroad, to share accurate data on regional itineraries and to develop human resources in tourism sector.
Chin state is a mountainous region endowed with tourist’s attractions such as natural beauties, flora and fauna, biological diversity, rare bird species, butterflies, wild lives as well as traditional style of living and customs of local Chin people, he said. It is needed to provide accurate data to those who come and visit Chin state enriched with tourist attractions. Besides, regional tourist guides play a crucial role in persuading tourists to come and visit Chin state again said he.
Then, U Aung Phyo, the head of Chin state Hotels and Tourism Department explained the aim of the course. After that, the state minister and officials posed for a documentary photo.
A total of 84 trainees from chin state are attending the course that will come to an end on 20 March.—Kyaw Swa ( IPRD)
