A basic disaster management training course kicked off at the meeting room of the Department of Disaster in Kawthaung, Taninthayi Region this morning.
    

On the occasion, Chairman of the district disaster management committee Deputy Commissioner of the General Administration Department U Nay Oo delivered an address and an official from the DDM Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement explained the aim of the training course.


Course instructors from the DDM, Fire Services Department, Department of Health and Myanmar Red Cross Society give lectures on terms and principles of disaster, disaster management, disasters in Myanmar, emergency communication and cooperation management, loss reduction due to disasters, climate change, rescue works, first aid activity, distribution of relief items, public health and sanitation, coordination at relief camps, and rehabilitation and reconstruction tasks during the three-day course.—Kyaw Soe (Kawthaung)
