A concluding ceremony of basic first aid training course, organized by Myeik University Red Cross Society (Branch) and Red Cross Nurses was held in conjunction with awards ceremony at the university this morning.
The training course is intended to make university students fully aware of humanitarian works, to make them understand and know first aid technics and to bring about outstanding Red Cross youth volunteers.
The six-week training course covered a range of subjects including the concept and ideas of first aid, control of bleeding and various forms of injuries, the structure of human body and its functions, patient analysis, medicine applying and bandaging methods, youth and ambition, climate change and infectious diseases.
At the closing ceremony, Rector Dr. NI Ni Oo of Myeik University gave a closing speech, handing out small gifts to the course instructors. Then, responsible persons presented certificates and prizes to the trainees and outstanding trainees respectively. Afterwards, the governing body of Taninthayi Region Red Cross Nurses troop provided Myeik University Red Cross Association (Branch) with five medical boxes.
