With the aim of creating job opportunities and increasing family income, the Department of Rural Development opened a basic sewing course at Thabut village administrator’s house in Myeik Township, Myeik District, Taninthayi Region this morning.

The occasion was attended by an Assistant Director U Se Maung of Myeik District Department of Rural Development, officials from the governmental departments, community leaders and trainees.

At the ceremony, an Assistant Director from the District Department of Rural Development gave opening remarks and officials from the Township Department of Rural Development also clarified the purpose of the course.

A total of 21 trainees nearby villages are attending the course and the course continues until 14 April. The teaching materials will be provided by Myeik Township Department of Rural Development.
