Bhamo, 17 February

The closing ceremony of a basic sewing course took place at a monastery in Kangyi Village, Bhamo Township in Kachin State on 16 February.

Firstly, Lower House MP U Zaw Thinn, Township Administrator U Soe Myint Hlaing and Deputy Director of the Department of Rural Development U Thaung Nyunt delivered speeches. Afterwards, the Lower House legislator presented a certificate of honour to a village administrator and the township administrator and the DRD officials also gave cash assistance to the course trainers.

An official from the DRD then presented completion certificates to the trainees, school uniforms to the headmaster and had a documentary photo taken. The one-month vocational training course was attended by 25 people from five villages throughout the township.—Thaung Nyunt (Myingyan)
