With a view to creating job opportunities for rural women and improving their socio-economic, a basic vocational sewing course was opened at the Dhamayon in Kintat Village, Myeik Township, Tanintharyi Region on 19 May.

At the event, an official of the District Department of Rural Development gave a speech and urged the trainees to practically apply the lessons learned in the training course to generate more income in their families. Afterwards, an official from the Township DRD clarified the purposes of the training course.

The two-month training course is being attended by 18 trainees from wards and villages in the township. Officials from the District DRD and the township DRD, the Township Agriculture Department, village Administrators and the trainees attended the opening ceremony of the training course.—Myint Oo
