A donation ceremony of books and historical materials to the Defence Services Museum and Historical Research Institute of the Commander-in-Chief Office (Army) took place at the Defence Services Museum Hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Daw Myint Myint Khine (Professor, Maths, Dept Head (Rtd)), daughter of hero Mahn Ba Khine, donated “True Stories of the Mahn Ba Khine Family”, along with biographical books on Mahn Ba Khine and Daw Khin Ni, mathematics-related books, and a commemorative photo album (12 photos) from the “Bogyoke Aung San and Martyrs Biography Exhibition” dated 1 September 1962, a Martyrs’ Day photo record album containing 159 photographs, an umbrella once used by Mahn Ba Khine, 14 Myanmar Than Taw Sint dailies published in 1872 (from No 25 to 48) donated by Dhamma Than Taw Sint, Myanmar Than Taw Sint News Agency of Mandalay and other historical books.
After the event, the director of the Defence Services Historical Research Institute expressed gratitude and presented a certificate of honour to the editor-in-chief of the Dhamma Than Taw Sint. — Bala/ KTZH
