The death toll in Sunday's building collapse in northern India has risen to seven. Among the dead were six personnel of the Indian Army and a woman, police sources said on Monday.
The incident happened in Solan district of India's northern hilly state Himachal Pradesh. The building housed a restaurant and it collapsed on Sunday while around 45 people were having lunch.
"We have rescued 35 people so far, and also brought out seven dead bodies. Relief and rescue work is still going on. Among the dead are six armymen while one was a woman," a local police officer told Xinhua via phone.
According to him, the injured have been admitted in a local hospital while efforts are being made to hand over the dead bodies to their respective families.
Preliminary reports said the building collapsed due to incessant rains over the past few days.
