Action will be taken against those who charge travellers more than the usual ticket prices during water festival in accordance with Consumer Protection Law in the town of Tachilek, eastern Shan state, according to Consumer Affairs Department.
MP U Khin Maung Tint of Pyithu Hluttaw gave the message to passenger transport providers in a briefing aimed at ensuring the smooth travel of the people in Tachilek-Taunggyi-Meikhtila highway bus station in Tachilek in the afternoon of 8 April.
MP U Khin Maung Tint in his speech said that if complaints about inconvenience of buying tickets and travelling faced by people are reported, action will be taken in accord with consumer protection law.
Then, MP U Khin Maung Tint, U Hla Soe, deputy head of Shan State Consumer Affairs Department and party gave away handouts to the persons in charge of 32 bus terminals in the township, it is learnt.—Myintmo ( Tachilek)
