Wetlet 30 March

In a bid to bring about sweeping reforms, a capacity building course for staff and administrators of vilage-tracts was launched at the meeting hall of The Township General Administration Department in Wetlet Township, Sagaing region yesterday.

At the ceremony, Township Administrator U Soe Hlaing Maung in his speech called for staff and village-tract administrators to think about what they have done for the region, not expecting what they would receive. He urged them to conduct their assigned duty out of good-will as they were in close contact with the public, stressing the need for open discussion on reforms in the training. Then, Township Law officer U Kyaw Soe Nyein discussed about ward and village laws and by laws with the trainees.

Officials from nine departments— the Township GAD, the Township Law Office, the Township Police Station, the Township Justice Office, the Township Livestock and Veterinary Department, the Township Sub-Election Commission Office, the Agriculture Department, the Township Rural Development Department and the Township Land use and Records Department— will talk about the works being conducted by their departments in the training, according to the Township GAD.

A total of 144 GAD staff from wards and villages in the Township are attending the three-day course that is running from march 29 till 31 from 8:am to 4:00 pm.—Ohnmar Win (IPRD)
