A capacity enhancement course for managing emerald green funds took place at the meeting hall of the Department of Rural Development in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region on 21 December.

The training course is held with the aim of disseminating knowledge about the emerald green project, seeking ways for systematically administering the village funds, and ensuring public participation in a transparent manner. At the ceremony, an official from the DRD clarified the purpose of the training course and another official explained matters relating to the project. The two-day training course is being attended by 70 trainees throughout the township.

The DRD has been implementing the emerald green project in 34 villages and giving training courses to village supervisory committee members.—Aung Win Nyein (Kanbalu)
