No casualty was reported when a car caught fire on Kawkareik-Myawady motor road near Tawnaw waterfall in Kawkareik township, kayin state at about 1:10 pm yesterday.

 

Local fire fighters and traffic police rushed to the scene to fight the fire with a fire engine. The accident happened when the engine room of a van without passenger became extremely hot, triggering the fire that damaged the car. The fire fighters managed to put out the fire at about 1:35 pm. The car and a motorbike inside the car were totally destroyed in the fire.

 

The driver of the car fled the scene. Local authorities are taking action against the incident, according police sub-inspector Tin Hla from kawkareik Area Police station.—Khin Myo Win (Kawkareik IPRD)
