A ceremony to provide cash aid to elderly people above 85 years old, pregnant women and children below two years old was held at the meeting hall of General Administration Department in Hpruso, Loikaw District, Kaya State.

At the event, Minister for Ministry of the State Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bosko delivered an opening speech and clarified the purpose of the provision of cash aid for senior citizens above 85 years old, pregnant women and children below two years old.

Under this cash aid program, elderly people, pregnant women and children in the township received cash aid amid the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

Also present on the occasion were the State Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Minister U Bosko, the regional Hluttaw representatives U Sere Thein Aung and U Khin Maung Tun, Director of the state Department of Social Welfare Daw Thein Thein  Myint, Deputy Director of the state Department of Social Welfare U Myint Zaw, the township Administrator U Aung Myint Tun and departmental officials. —Taw Re, IPRD Translated by JT
