A ceremony to provide cash assistance to people whose homes became relocated due to riverbank erosion was held at the meeting room of the Township Department of Disaster Management in Thayawaddy Township, Bago Region yesterday.
Ten family members from three households in Sanzwe Village in Thayawaddy Township were evacuated to safer places as a result of Myitmakha Riverbank erosion on 1 October.
Officials from the township Department of Disaster Management provided Ks. 321000 each for purchasing rice and construction materials and rescue kit box with 16 items to victims of riverbank erosion in the village.—Thant Zaw
