An event to provide financial aid to the family of lightning victims was held at the meeting room of the Disaster Management Department in Tada-U Township, Kyaukse District in Mandalay Region this morning.
At the event, chairman of the Township Administration Council U Phyo Zaw Ko Ko delivered a speech. Then, an official from the Township Department of Disaster Management shared knowledge about the danger of the lightning and advised people to turn off their electrical appliances, including TVs and mobile phones and to stay in their home during thunderstorms.
Under this cash aid program, the family of U Moe San Oo who was struck to death by lightning on 30 July in Shwemoemay Village in the township received Ks. 300000, and U Myint Naing who was injured by lightning on 30 July in the same village and receiving medical treatment at the hospital received Ks. 50000.—U Ye Tint (IPRD)
