Chairman of Minbu District Disaster Management Committee U Tun Tun Win and officials provided grants and relief materials to flood-affected households in Sinphyukyun, Saling Township of Magway Region yesterday morning.

Due to Cyclone Mocha on 13 to 14 May, it rain heavily, and water flowed down from the mountain and caused flooding in Salingnwetame Creek. A total of 55 villages were affected by flood, and a total of 89 houses were damaged, three people were killed and one injured by flood.

People had to temporarily move to the homes of their relatives that were free from the flood, according to chairman of the District Dasater Management Committee U Tun Tun Win. Officials provided foodstuffs, cash, and relief items worth Ks. 10.47 million in total to flood-affected households in the Township.—Maung Maung(Minbu)
