Strong winds hit Katha Township, Sagaing Region at about 8 pm on 12 April and some houses were destroyed.

Due to the strong winds, two houses were destroyed and roofs of seven houses were flipped over. Therefore, officials from Katha District Department of Disaster Management provided a total of K 536,100 to nine households suffering the risks of the strong winds yesterday.

In addition, roofs of 81 houses and three monasteries in Wuntho Township were destroyed. Six houses in Htigyaing Township and a house in Indaw Township were also damaged due to the strong winds. The officials are providing cash aids to the storm victims in the township.
