Cash aids and relief items were provided to fire victims in Aung Zeyar Ward in Meiktila this morning.

A fire broke out at about 3 pm yesterday in Aung Zeyar Ward and it started from the overheated rice cooker, leaving people from 17 households homeless. The fire victims were temporarily evacuated to No.19 Basic Education Primary School.

Officials from the District Department of Disaster Management provided K 106,000 per household and relief items to the fire victims. Then Shwe Ohn Pin Restaurant also donated K 50,000 per household and Aung Kaung Pyae Fuel Station also provided one bag of rice per household and drinking water. Furthermore, well-wishers from the township are providing relief items to the fire victims, according to the Aung Zeyar Ward Administrator.
