A ceremony to donate cash assistance to schools in flood-hit areas was held at the office of flood relief command in the town of Kyaikmaraw, Mon State yesterday.

Donors from Private High Schools in Mandalay and Meiktila handed over K 6.0 million to U Saw Kyaw Win Maung, Pyi Thu Hluttaw Representative and chairman of the Township disaster management committee for reconstruction of schools which were hit by floods in the Township.

A donor from Lewe Township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Terretory also donated a total of K 5000000 including K 2500000 to a school in Ulay Village and K 2500000 to a school in Ngapyaema Village in Kyaikmaraw Township respectively, it is learnt.—Cho Myat Myat
