Cash assistance was provided to fire victims who are in temporary rescue camps in Ngamyinchaung village, Myaungmya Township yesterday. A total of K 1.2 million for construction and repair of houses and food for a week is furnished by officials from the Disaster Management Department and Township General Administration Department.

“The department promptly provided kits with 16 kinds of goods to fire victims. Now, cash assistance is also provided for construction of their houses and food for a week” said U Win Zaw Htay, deputy director from Myaungmya District Disaster Management Department.
The fire started from the house of Nantotae in Ngamyinchaung village on 12 March, leaving 34 people homeless from eight households. Therefore, a temporary rescue camp was opened at the monastery in the village to help fire victims.
