A centennial school library was opened in Basic Education High School in Konzaung village in Pwint Phyu township, Magway region this morning.

 

 First, U Tint San, MP of the region Hluttaw, Professor Dr Sanda Oo of Yadanabon University and deputy township education officer U Tin Aye cut a ribbon to formally open the library. At the event, MP U Tint San urged schoolchildren to read all kinds of book in leisure times to gain knowledge and wisdom. He also called on teachers to work together towards the sustainable development of the school library. 

 

Then Professor Daw Sanda Oo talked about ways of fundraising and work programs for the development of the library. Afterwards, headmistress Daw Nyo Nyo spoke words of thank for the donation of the school library. The school library is a brick building measuring 30 feet in length and 20 feet in width. A total of K 12.8 million was spent on the construction of the school building, of which K 5 million was donated by U Win Naing and K 7.9 million was contributed by villagers. 

 

Over 1900 books are put in the library, according to U Kyaw Myint of Konzaung village administrator. –Ye Win Naing ( Nyaung-U)
