THE “Charity Art Show,” an exhibition and sale of stunning paintings, was held yesterday at Mingalar Mandalay Hotel in Mandalay, attracting art lovers from across the city.

“This event is a collaborative effort between the Myanmar Art Centre and Mingalar Mandalay Hotel. It features live painting demonstrations, discussions on creating artwork inspired by Myanmar culture, and a sale of paintings. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charitable organizations in Mandalay,” explained Ma Thet, Managing Director of the Myanmar Art Centre.

She added, “The exhibition showcases the work of 40 artists, with over 100 paintings on display and available for purchase. Prices range from K200,000 to K20 million. The event runs from 21 to 22 December and aims to build stronger connections between artists and the Mandalay community”.

Artist U Soe Win Aung commented, “As part of the exhibition, I will be conducting a drawing session as part of the live painting activities. This event is highly beneficial as it draws in art enthusiasts, children, and students from fine art schools, providing them with opportunities to learn and explore”.
