ON behalf of State Administration Council Vice-Chairman Deputy Com­mander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Sen­ior General Soe Win, a delegation led by General Maung Maung Aye, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy, and Air), attended the 25th ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (25th ACAMM) at Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort in Ma­balacat, the Philippines, on 21 November.

 

During the meeting, Lt-Gen Roy M Galido, Commander-in-Chief (Army) of the Philippines, delivered the opening speech. ASEAN Army chiefs discussed “Strengthening Partnership and Cama­raderie Towards Regional Stability”. The meeting concluded in the afternoon, fol­lowed by a joint press conference.

 

General Maung Maung Aye also held separate meetings with military leaders from Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines, Laos, and Brunei, discuss­ing bilateral cooperation and friendship. They exchanged souvenirs at the end of the discussions.

 

In the evening, General Maung Maung Aye and his wife, along with oth­er ASEAN Chiefs of the Army and their spouses, attended a dinner hosted by Lt-Gen Roy M Galido and his wife, where they exchanged insignia of the Philippine Army. — MNA/TS
