The Children Literary Festival is in progress in Kyaiklat Township of Pyapon District in Ayeyawady Region.

Jointly organized by the Ayeyawady Regio government, the Information and Public Relations Department, the Department of Basic Education and the Township Management Committee, the two-day festival was opened at the entrance of Government Technical Institute yesterday. At the opening ceremony, school children performed with songs and dances, and received cash awards presented by Chief Minister of Ayeyawady Region U Hla Moe Aung and wife, and government officials.

The Chief Minister and party also looked around exhibitions and book sales at the festival where he talked to the children about prominent persons of the region to encourage the children for their future.

The local government has successfully held the festival in Chaungtha, Zalun, Einme and Danubyu townships out of the planned events in 26 townships.— Kyaiklat IPRD
