The Children’s Literature Festival jointly conducted by the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Education and the Bago Region Government kicked off this morning.

First, the ceremony was formally opened by former President U Htin Kyaw, Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko, Union Minister for Education Dr. Myo Thein Gyi, Bago Region Chief Minster U Win Thein and six exceptional students.

Next, the former President and the Union Minister for Information gave remarks and students performed musical entertainment to the attendees. Then, the Bago Regional Chief Minister Win Thein expressed words of thanks and the officials examined the book fair and the festival.

The festival is designed to imbue reading habits to the children and cultivating good practice to cooperate with others. The festival continues until 30 March and it includes competitions, traditional ethnic dances, book stores, literary talks, entertainment, sporting events and happy world sport ground.
